Equilab’s new Records feature helps you celebrate your personal bests in training — whether it’s covering the longest distance or achieving your best duration with your horse.
This guide explains how Records work, when they appear, and how they’re updated.
How Records Work
Records are created based on the trainings you track in the app. Trainings recorded before the feature was introduced won’t generate records automatically. For new users, record tracking begins from your second tracked training. There’s no minimum improvement required — even small increases count.
Each time you save a new or edited training, including those from before the feature launched, Equilab compares your distance and duration with your existing top distance and duration. If any of your stats are higher, a new record is created instantly.
Records are only created for trainings tracked in the app, and a horse must be selected. Manual trainings do not count. Each record is tied to a specific user‑and‑horse combination, so every horse has its own set of records. Every new tracked training is compared against your current records (duration and distance) with that same horse. If you edit a training by adding or changing the selected horse, Equilab recalculates whether it qualifies as a record.
Adding a Horse
When you add a new horse to your profile, record tracking starts from that day forward. Past trainings with that horse are not included in its record history.
Changing Horses on a Training
If you update a training by selecting a different horse, Equilab checks whether that training sets a record for the newly assigned horse. Distance and duration records update automatically. If a record is gained or lost, the record message and badge update immediately.
Deleting or Editing a Training
Records may update whenever key details of a training change — such as trimming, assigning or removing a horse, or deleting the training.
If you delete a training that holds a record, the associated record is removed.
When you trim a ride, Equilab recalculates the record based on the updated data.
Deleting a horse or rider profile permanently removes all records linked to that profile.
Multiple Records
You can earn multiple records across your trainings, and each horse and rider combination have their own set. It’s also possible to achieve more than one record in a single session — for example, both a new distance and duration record.
Record Popups and Celebration
When you achieve a new personal best, a celebration popup appears in your training summary. To keep these moments special, each user can receive up to two celebration popups per week across all horses. The limit resets every Monday.
Records appear in your Training Summary (including friends’ rides), the Social Feed, and your Profile. They always follow your preferred unit settings.
If you set a new record while offline, Equilab stores it locally. Once you’re back online, you’ll see the record on your training.
Sharing a Record
When you share a training that includes a record, the record badge appears on the shared map view.
Editing Trainings with Records
Editing a training that currently holds a record will prompt a warning message before any changes are applied. If you choose to proceed, the edits will be saved and the system will recalculate your records accordingly. If you choose not to continue, the edit is canceled and your existing record remains unchanged.
Records on Profile
The Records section appears on your profile, just above Achievements.
