Samsung - Interrupted Trainings

There are a few settings you can update on your Samsung device that can help prevent you from experience interrupted trainings. This article outlines the steps to make such updates.

Battery Optimization

Battery optimization for Samsung devices is turned on by default for all apps. For Equialb, this setting can often result in interrupted trainings since tracking apps require more battery to constantly analyze your GPS and motion using sensors. To turn off battery optimization, follow these steps:

1. Open your device's Settings app
2. Scroll down and press the Apps option
3. Find and tap Equilab from the list of apps
4. Select Battery (from the "Usage" section)
5. Choose Unrestricted (not "Optimized")

Note that the settings may revert back to their default state after installing the latest Android operating system or deleting and re-installing the Equilab app. For this reason, we recommend periodically checking to ensure you have the proper recommended settings battery settings.

Background limitations / "Sleeping apps"

Samsung has several options that put apps that are not used the most frequently to sleep. When apps are put to sleep, they keep running in the background but their functions - such as tracking - are shut down. To prevent Equilab from being put to sleep by your device, take the following steps:

1. Open your device's Settings app
2. Scroll down and select the Battery and Device care option
3. Press on Battery
4. Select Battery (from the "Usage" section)
5. Tap on Background usage limits
6. Make sure that:
   • "Put unused apps to sleep" is turned off
   • Equilab is not on the list of Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps (if it is shown, remove it0
