Equilab is constantlly collecting and processing data while tracking your ride, which requires both battery and processing capacity from your device. To help improve battery life, your iPhone will close Equilab if the app is running continuously. You can help prevent your phone from closing the app unexpectedly by taking the steps listed below.
Set your phone to Airplane Mode
- Note that doing so will pause any inbound/outbound messages, notifications, or calls - though turning airplane mode off temporarily during your ride to check for messages will not impact tracking).
- Kill other apps before you start tracking (this is especially important for other GPS-based tracking apps).
- Ensure Low Power Mode is disabled
- Keep your phone locked (screen off/dark) while riding
- If you need to open your phone, avoid using the map screen when possible. Keeping Equilab on the training stats screen (that shows time, distance, speed, and gaits) requires less battery
